A Renovo Mystery
RENOVO, Dec. 15, 1882 — Patrick Shelly, a well known citizen who held the positions of town council, high constable and tax collector, was found dead along the water’s edge of the West Branch River opposite Renovo Hotel this afternoon.
Blood was found on the snow a distance of ten feet from the spot where the body was found, indicating foul play. The boots worn by the deceased have disappeared.
The cause of this mysterious death is now being investigated by coroner’s jury.
